$200 can help offset the cost of a hotel room for people that are forced to come to Phoenix for their surgical abortion procedure. Arizona has a mandatory 24hr waiting period after a consultation, forcing out of state patients to wait in town an extra day. All patients having procedures at 16 weeks gestation or later will undergo a 2-day procedure, and sometimes cannot drive home immediately after. Out of town travel for abortion care can be a 1-3 night stay in Phoenix.
